Dedicated To Preserving The Past.

As each day passes by, a part of history goes by with it.  Fortunately, here in Robertson County, there are many people who are doing their part to preserve that history and share it with others.  Membership in the Robertson County Historical Society is open to everyone with annual dues only $15 for an individual and $25 for a household.  

The Robertson County Historical Society was organized in 1967 and is a nonprofit corporation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The business of the Historical Society of Robertson County and the business of the Robertson County History Museum is governed by a Board of Directors which includes twelve elected members and the museum director. 

Our Vision & Mission

The chief purpose of the Museum is to collect and preserve items of historical importance to Robertson County, Tennessee. Other objectives are: to provide educational and entertaining exhibits, programs and activities for its citizens of all ages; to provide a learning center on Robertson County History for students in area schools; to provide a source for research in cooperation with Gorham-MacBane Public Library, Robertson County Archives, Robertson County Court House and Springfield City Hall; to provide an outlet for publications of the Robertson County Historical Society.

For nearly forty years, the Robertson County Historical Society has worked to preserve and collect the history of Robertson County. The Society’s major project is the sponsorship of the Robertson County History Museum.

 

Today, a very special group of people helps to carry on that work - the Society’s membership which consists of more than 200 members. Their support helps make it possible for the Society to continue collecting, cataloging and caring for the historical treasures of the county and to make them available to people of all ages.

 

You can lend your support to this organization by becoming a member. Complete and return the following form with your annual dues of $15.00 per individual or $25 per household. This entitles you to all privileges of membership including:

  • Regular Meetings, which present a variety of special topics of interest

  • The Robertson County Chimes, our quarterly newsletter

  • Free Admission to the Robertson County History Museum

  • Early access to special event ticket sales
